CN Utility Consulting, Inc. (CNUC) is currently seeking energetic, experienced professionals who enjoy working outdoors. Our field positions are ideal for individuals with an educational background in Forestry, Arboriculture, Horticulture, Biology, Environmental Sciences and/or conservation or related disciplines. Superior species identification skills and invasive species knowledge is essential.
A CNUC Utility Arborist will perform the following:
• Inspecting transmission rights of way: Identification and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines.
• Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned line-clearance crews.
• Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues.
• Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers.
Successful candidate requirements:
• Degree or experience in Forestry, Horticulture, Natural Resources or related fields.
• Ability to identify local trees and knowledge of growth rates.
• Utility vegetation management experience and ISA Certification a plus, but not required. Must be able to obtain within one year from date of employment.
• One or more years of field related experience.
• Strong public relations aptitude.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, and make sound arboricultural judgments.
• Ability to work in rugged terrain and inclement weather.
• Ability to read and follow maps.
• Ability to handle a 4x4 in off right of way conditions.
• Must have a good safety record.
• Must have a valid Driver License.
• Computer skills.
• A strong attention to detail.

Compensation based on qualifications and experience. CNUC offers competitive wages and excellent benefits, and access to industry related training materials. Full-time positions include the option to participate in ESOP program after 1 year of employment. A pre-employment drug screening is required.
